Well, we're rounding the corner on Cohost, as I'm sure you've heard. Fear not, though. I plan to keep posting here until the wheels fall off (October), and after that point What's Good will continue on in another form, more likely than not on my website as a blog. I'll try to get that set up and ready to go before the doors close here, but be sure to follow me everywhere else as DJ Regular (I'm primarily on Bluesky, but you can find other social media haunts on the contacts section of my page) so you get an update as soon as it's ready.

Let's get into this week's joints, though. We've got a very chunky edition of the blog this week, with:

BNDCMPR - What's Good - Week of 8/4

That does it for this week. Be sure to share this with your folks, and don't hesitate to let me know what you're listening to this weekend down in the comments. Take care, and make good choices.

Another week in the books so it's time to celebrate What's Good! You know the vibes, every Friday I give you all the new music I'm digging, with videos, places to purchase and stream, along with a few bits of fun music stuff from across the web. In this edition we've got the final edition of Remy Banks' Champ Hoody series, Kim Gordon got an album full of thumpers and existential dread, the spirit of Dale Earnhardt gets filtered through fantasy and thrash metal, and a whole lot more. But first, let's get into some Bonus Beats.

Bonus Beats

Blueprint returns to music after a pandemic induced break with his upcoming Falling Down EP, and while you can check out the single down below, he takes you behind the scenes for its video up above.

For all you production heads out there, What's Good regular Bad Snacks pulled up on Ableton's SoCal HQ to participate in Ableton Spaces and led a workshop.

Richmond, VA legends Butcher Brown stopped by the Tiny Desk to run through some head nodders from their most recent LP Solar Music.

From Virginia to South Carolina, the Tiny Desk train of good music continues with Wednesday play a trio of songs from one of I Let My Tape Rock 'Til My Tape Popped honorees, Rat Saw God.

The CABBAGES podcast took the show on the road for the very first time ever, traveling to OUTER SPACE (otherwise known as Philadelphia) to chop it up with Zilla Rocca to talk about the 1994 William Friedkin (f'real?!) film Blue Chips.

De La Soul and Prince Paul took to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of 3 Feet High and Rising, performing a delightful rendition of "Eye Know."

Caltrops Press returns with a deep dive into the themes of grief and progression in Earl Sweatshirt's Feet of Clay and the rest of his catalog, linked to his contemporaries, and writers like bell hooks, Carl Sandburg, and his own mother. Take your time with it.

Now with that out of the way, let's get into this week's new joints.
