its been an eternity but I wanted to respond to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (full screen the images for descriptions!)
I feel like its hard for me to decide but I think anyone that knows me well enough knows about my project La Lobas (working title, I'm trying to edit for gender reasons but I'm new to learning Spanish so pls be kind and/or give me input lol). Its a concept I came up with after exploring an ex hacienda when I was able to travel to Mexico for my study abroad art class! The grounds in question are Mueso Ex Hacienda San Gabriel de Barrera in Guanajuato!
The concept was a sort of....dark period sapphic romance murder mystery with supernatural elements? After doing some research into different folklore stories from southern/central america I was inspired by the folklore around El Cadejo (I think the Espooky Tales Podcast was really cool for explaining this one) and wanted to incorporate that into the plot. I have never had the chance to get much further than some basic original art concepts that I ended up doing the term after I returned as a project back in 2019, but given the chance I would love to do more! I think a big thing is that I would like it to take place during the height of Spain's colonization and silver mining with colonization as a focus--but I'm not a historian and although I grew up visiting my very latino family, a lot of culture I felt was erased when my family immigrated to America so I would want some sort of advisor for the story as well to make sure I'm being culturally sensitive. ALSO also I took a billion pictures of Hacienda San Gabriel but tragically they were all lost so all of the reference photos I had planned for setting and stuff are gone, and I would love to do more personal photo research on settings of that time. ANYWAY it would take a lot of time/money/energy for me to tackle this so for now it'll just hang out in my head
