I really enjoyed The Incal, and also Metabarons, and bunch of other Jodorowsky stuff. So, I was kind of surprised when I saw this on a shelf (with two more books as well)!
Was this a prequel? re-telling? something different? I had no idea, but the fact that it was Difool on the cover made me curious and also suspicious.
Now, I haven't read The Incal in quite a few years at this point (reminder: read it again!), so as I'm reading this I start to wonder - wait, is this like a "remake" of Incal? Oh, there's the Metabaron - but, he's not quite a "star" in the original Incal...from what I remember, so what's going on? When is this story set? (I still don't know, but that's ok) It feels best to think of it as a sort of alternate universe Incal story...
All of this to say, it was fun, I enjoyed it, glad I read it, would read again, and Yay! Because, it felt like a legit Jodorowsky-universe book. And yes, the art is not Moebius - but it is still great and I really enjoyed it.
