i read all of “Equal Rites” by Terry Pratchett in a couple of hours over the holiday weekend, basically reading nonstop. i really liked it! so i wanted to draw Esk. i know the point of the book is about gender but i think Esk has capital “G” Gender and idk what capacity that exists in but i know mr pratchett would want me to interpret her like that. Esk is trans. probably.

also, 8th child of a family full of boys, she’s gonna get the same haircut all her brothers get, she’s going to get her hand-me-downs regardless of gender because that’s how you do it when you have more than one child.

commission i finished earlier this year for my friend Han of her hexblood character Heulene and Bavlorna from the Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign. in their campaign, Heulene and Bavlorna were raised together as children where eventually Bavlorna would become the hag of the hourglass coven.

this is Alavér Eichel, a guy with hair like aquamarine and complexion like bloodstone. he's a mixed race guy from my fantasy setting, and kind of a fucking weirdo anyway.

i've been trying to repurpose something i wrote based on the forgotten realms dnd setting to put it in my own fantasy setting and i realized some of that writing is where Felix, my current dnd character, has origins in. Felix has his own stuff going on now so i needed a new character to fill the role he had, so i made Alavér (which is pronounce like "Oliver" but with an "a" sound instead). i gave Alavér the qualities i took out of Felix so he'd be a tolerable playable character, but Alavér doesn't need to be playable so he can be the weirdest littlest boredest twink thing possible.
