some other recent art and a character meme for my dnd character, Felix. he's a level 9 aberrant mind sorcerer, which i think is one of my favorite subclasses of all time. (the other person in the last picture is his boyfriend, Luc, a fire wizard)

a drawing exercise where I tried to draw my dnd character Felix deliberately “off model” (his “canon” design is the one on the far right).
tieflings were originally supposed to have a purposefully varied design as beings of chaos but they’ve become a little more universalized in more recent editions of dnd. likely for the purposes of selling minis. Sure. you can still see tieflings being chaotically different in pathfinder’s deviation of the species. I think it’s neat.
anyway, I thought I’d try my hand at pushing Felix’s design through certain other popular depictions of how people draw their tiefling characters (plus some fun derivative outfits too). at the end of the day I think I still prefer his original design and how I specifically design tieflings, but this was a fun thing to do! i encourage you to think about how to draw your own characters differently, and think about the intentional choices you made in their composition. maybe it’ll inspire you to change some stuff around. be like a tiefling and add a little chaos to your life.
fun fact about Felix: his hair grows at like 10x the normal rate which was a fun narrative quirk related to his backstory but also based on how often I have to cut my own hair due to it’s fast growth. it also made it so I never had to land on a specific hairstyle for him cuz i couldn’t decide if I liked him with longer or shorter hair when I was originally making his character.
