really enjoying scrapyard, the new quadeca project. his production is so excellent

Our first car is a 1986 Dodge 600, or at least that's what its red and black original manual proclaimed. God fuckin damnit, I'm starting to really develop a liking for K-cars.
Two door Cherokees are a lot rarer birds in salvage yards, in comparison to their four door brothers. That's about a near-universal rule for cars I know, but still. This one is also the most complete I've seen. The only other junked 2 door Cherokee I've found junking was so stripped for parts it looked like a video game model for a "destroyed" car after it blows up and flings its doors and wheels off.
I mentioned in the last one of these that Mercedes of this type are pretty common in Central Florida yards; but this one is special, because it's one of the almighty turbodiesels. I'm really glad this wasn't a wagon, because if it was and it was as relatively nice as this, I'd probably end up with charges for title fraud.
This slightly odd looking bug is part of the "classics" row at Uncle Tony's U-Pull-It, one of my favorite yards due to its turnover and being the only yard for miles open Sundays. Aside from one or two wreck victims, most of the classics row has the air of having been yanked out of 20-30 years of undergrowth, and this beetle is no exception. If I remember, it had basically no floorboards to speak of.
