Why is it that flipping the number 6 can make it look like a different number in multiple languages?

Like, in English, if you flip it upside down it looks like a 9, and in Arabic if you turn it backwards it looks like a 2

I think it might be having an identity crisis

me being around now doesn't help Julia feel less lonely, I mean it does a little but not as much as she needs, wolf still struggles a lot with loneliness, feeling neglected, unwanted, but it is fun to have little conversations in the shower like "why did the cover art for that evangelion mahjong game go so hard anyways", and she says "we should play that when we learn how to play mahjong" and I say "when?" and she goes "okay if"

seriously though look at this cover, it goes unreasonably hard: cover art of Shinseiki Evangelion Mahjong Hokan Keikaku on the GBC, Ayanami Rei is surrounded by mahjong pieces in the shape of DNA

It has long been known to psychology that, during childhood, and adolescence, people mature emotionally and intellectually at an incredible rate.

But nobody ever really impresses upon kids that this process slows down dramatically in the late teens.

The result is that, like, 16 year-olds have vastly inflated expectations for the maturity of 20 year-olds. There's so much less difference in maturity between a 16 year-old and a 25 year-old than there is between a 16 year-old and a 12 year-old.

It seems to me that it is precisely this chasm between adolescent expectations and adult reality that gives relationships between the two such a high risk of harm.

At least, I'm pretty sure I would have been much less damaged by my the internet relationship I had during high school if I had understood that pretty much the only real difference between being 17 and being 22 is how intense your emotions feel.
