#silent hill 2

Let's finally make a post on here!

Not news, but Youtube algorythm stuff really seems to make no sense. This year I had one of my Twitch Stream archives do very well on YT, my analysis of some of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster trailers, titled "Old Gamer Shouts at Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster" as a tongue-in-cheek reference to my criticisms and analysis being way too indepth and nitpicky at the time. But it seemed to do well and get decent engagement. I even did a short follow up when new trailers came out and still did well.

So when we got a brand new Story trailer and extended gameplay demo trailers for Silent Hill 2 Remake, I figured this would be something people would want to see me cover, and poetic as one of the first things I did on stream with my re-debut as current Baghead mask was doing that. So I did the stream, when super indepth for over 3 hours. Got the VOD on YouTube with the same "old gamer shouts at" branding, even had my friend make a cool thumbnail, recreating the "Old Man Yells At Cloud" meme image from The Simpsons.

Aaaaaand the video barely gets viewed or even impressions compared to the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster videos and I don't get it. I posted it in close proximity to the reveals, the title and branding was the same, the content was very similar to the videos that previously did well and the thumbnail was great and really popped. Barely got 20 views.

I'm just stumped and I don't get it. Only guess I have is people now seem to suddenly love what they're showing of the Silent Hill 2 Remake (despite most of the fundamental issues are still there and in some cases even more glaring) and anyone seeing a video about it with any negative connotations will be put off? Or YouTube is just an asshole and only puts videos in homepages and recommended at random.

It's probably too late for the video to recover at this point, but I've tried changing the title incase it wasn't clear. But if anyone is interested to see a jaded bagged gamer's opinion on the remake who gets as in depth and specific as possible, please give the VOD a check, even if you skip around to certain parts or don't agree, I hope you give it some time

The amount of work that these people put into this game, even the minute details and small irks that I have NEVER noticed before, deserve to be applauded.

This is the GOLD STANDARD for how to fix and improve a PC Port that has been abandoned by a developer.

Also. Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition has long been the superior way to experience Silent Hill 2, even compared to the original PS2 release. This update makes my opinion DEFINITIVE.

I am begging you to give Silent Hill 2 a playthrough using these enhancements, especially now with Silent Hill 2 Remake on the Horizon (My god, please be decent)

coming out of a bit of a slump in terms of Published Creations this summer but I'm really happy with how these two previews from the same event came out:

Previews are weird and I don't typically enjoy writing them much but playing these two back to back and then getting to sit down and really think about What Is Going On With Remakes was satisfying. I don't think I exactly broke any new ground but it's nice to go a little deeper than "yeah game probably pretty good, not surprising since it was already beloved." I hope they read interestingly as a pair.
