#silent hill 2
I thought this was a very good video with an interesting read on both Silent Hill 2 and male loneliness.
...When I write, even though I write from the perspective of a queer leftist woman (and in support of that perspective), I also try to write with consideration given to people who might be coming from some other culture or point of view. Sometimes I wonder if there's any real point to me doing that, considering the very small reach any of my writings have as it is.
I bring this up because male loneliness is a topic that I've seen covered by a few different people, and I think it's easy to... come to extreme conclusions about it one way or the other, I guess. But it's something I struggled with a lot, personally, before I transitioned, and I always hope that people give real, careful consideration to the sources of that loneliness and how to address them. Because I think it's a serious problem.
I think the above video does a good job at covering men's side of the responsibilities without being outright unsympathetic to them (except when warranted). It's just... I recognize how difficult it is for men to learn how to overcome emotional isolation when that particular process is always a two-way street, and other men, by and large, avoid helping them with it by definition.
If you happen to be a lonely man reading this, I'm slowly learning to overcome loneliness after having been in that position myself, and I'd honestly like to offer help if I can. I can't be your friend, but if you have questions about where to start, I dunno, leave a comment, leave an ask, I will do my best to offer some advice.
All together now! The complete set of Silent Hill posters~ all traditional mixed media using watercolor, ink, and colored pencil (the text is added digitally).
Psst-- I still have a few more of these available in my shop!
Happy New Year everybody!
Here's my 2023 Summary of Art! It's been a wild year, my style went more towards realism, and I explored a whole new art program, which I feel like improved my art quality by a thousand percent.
I do not, personally, feel like I improved a whole lot since the start of the year--but I also did not have much time to draw, either.
With experiments on colours, different brushes, different techniques, I feel I can confidently enter 2024 with hope for the style I have been wanting to achieve.
