Probably an unpopular opinion: I cannot get into the Simon Snow trilogy.

I have probably read halfway through before I got bored of it. The story isn't bad but the way the LGBTQ theme regarding the main character was just messy. The constant flip back and forth between two characters - one being the "love interest", felt a little disorienting. I'm sure the book is better if not good than this, but I couldn't understand the appeal for the series.
