#tbh i've had worse issues with official chargers like the 'had to hold my iPad upside down for approximately one hour to transfer data' incident so this is mild compared to that

The accessory is fine. It's my charger. It works. There's no issues with it. I just want to turn off the pop-up permanently in software (again, the device and charger are fine, all ports are clean, everything works always, it's just being a bitch likely due to it being third party). I'll literally jailbreak my device to do it. please

The only time I ever had an Apple device read a charger as an accessory, was the charger being on it’s deathbed. I couldn’t tell you how to turn that popup off, but I would suggest replacing the box you’re using; if your iPad can’t define that box as a charger then there’s something internally wrong with it.

It's a USB-C to lightning cable that plugs into a port in my computer directly (I use this thing to draw, so I plug it into my PC to mirror screens with it). After a bit of testing today, however, the dastardly pop-up disappeared, although it did show up when I had literally nothing at all connected to my device upon waking it from sleep mode(?!)

The pop-up seems to have not haunted me further after that, no matter how much I wiggle the cable or how many unofficial external accessories (ooh, spooky) I connect. I don't...have any answers for why this happened to begin with. It just decided that it's fine now.
