Jesus Christ, the first sort-of-complete draft of chapter 2 of Scars, my Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? fanfic sequel thing, is clocking in at 5300 words, and given my usual editing style, it's only going to balloon.

Five thousand three hundred words.

I don't think I've ever written anything that long before.

For reference: Part 1 of this fanfic triptych was 1600ish words.
Chapter 1 of Scars was 3000ish words, which I already felt was A Lot.
Holding my heart for how many words chapter 3 is going to top out at at this rate.

I think I need to go have a lie down.
