- windows doesn't have the "magic packet only" setting enabled by default for wake-on-lan

head over to Device Manager, find your ethernet port, hit Properties, and then uncheck Wake-On-LAN. if you really want WOL to still be active, be sure to check the “magic packet only” checkbox.
i’m still not sure why windows 10 just had this by default. so stupid.
