I was overcome by a fit of "you know what I really love? Surcoats" so here's Meri's Otherworld Armor 2.0.
edit: adjusted the color scheme slightly to make her sword stand out a little more

so i was playing around with ffxiv armor models and went wow. i bet i could do better for mererid's otherworld armor. not sure about the scarf now that i'm trying to envision it as a real piece of cloth but i'll figure something out. the buckles on her left vambrace are where her shield attaches, and the surcoat is still a coat of plates, just with a skirt extending.
i'm trying to make my poses more dynamic. i did end up cutting the scarf entirely, i think it's a cleaner look without it.

this one might take a couple iterations? it's harder to make her clothing more interesting while keeping a semi-early medieval feel. i like how her braids echo her belt, though
veering a little more norman/11th century here but the basic construction of elaine's outfit is still fairly similar to early medieval clothes, and i needed her to look roughly in line with orphne's outfit. also i do love the embroidered pattern on the skirt of version 1 but that kind of interlacing is more associated with books than clothing, and it took away a little from orphne's patterned underdress being specifically ilian. i also decided a center part worked better for her hair.
