this one might take a couple iterations? it's harder to make her clothing more interesting while keeping a semi-early medieval feel. i like how her braids echo her belt, though
#twilight gest
re the last post i did actually specifically give mererid an oakeshott type xii sword, circa the 13th century. which obviously post-dates her normal era but like. arthurian chivalry stasis otherworld. there are a lot of different kinds of swords and not all of them post-date the medieval period, although obviously there was tremendous differentiation starting around the 15th century or so.
anyway i did specifically pick an early medieval inspired setting for twilight gest to contrast with the otherworld being in idealized chivalric stasis forever and to have the otherworld, at this point, technologically advanced compared to the mortal one, rather than the other way 'round.
i did almost make the setting 5-6th century inspired instead of 8-9th-ish, but i decided i wanted early castles.
Sorceress and scholar of Gwenffrewi College, seemingly unattainably charming and sophisticated, and unbearably loyal.
everyone is envious of orphne's byzantine-inspired swag. she did have her clothing made in the kingdom of euas, where she resides and studies as a sorceress, rather than importing it from her homeland of the ilian basilearchy, but she had it based on ilian designs.
the thing about orphne is she has to look like someone you could fall in love with instantly
btw the fur trim is still multicolored, it's just i'm going to add that in the coloring stage
