extreme insomnia night timeline

~22:30: head out of friend's art stream/voice call with "OK, I'm tired, I'm going to bed"
~midnight: sleep isn't happening. hop back into voice call, eyes closed with one earbud in
~01:40: voice call ends
~02:00: walk round the neighbourhood
~02:30: get back home, watch random youtube videos
03:25: notice friends are hopping into vr.
03:40: watch the entirety of galaxy quest in VR

on the plus side, i learned about the steamvr display brightness slider
on the downside i have hit the "24 hours of being awake" point at this point

can't sleep

heat will eat me

wandering around the neighbourhood at 2am with t-shirt, shorts and sandals

and it's still warm out here too

lot of houses with their lights on though, clearly not the only one kept up

thinking about heatwaves a lot, for some reason

which got me thinking about related things

which then got me thinking about this sign that's shown up at conventions around the world, and just how nice it is there's a fandom specific resource on this, even if derived from a (zooms in) national weather service document

(it probably should have the correct emergency number for the country it's in though, but maybe they've fixed it since i took this photo in 2019)
