I feel like this would make for a cool sci fi samurai short film where like, maybe the swords are made out of reflective material and the

vantablack isn't adhered particularly well so it chips and flakes with each contact so you go from the swords being basically shadow void to blinding light void throughout the fight

even with regular metal swords maybe you could match exposure and lighting to do it

and then shoot the whole thing anamorphic so by the end you can barely see anything through the lens flares
