unfortunately finishing Sonic Adventure 2 and looking to the Shadow the Hedgehog game in the future means that i am very calm and collected and rational towards Shadow as a character (this is a really good thread)

#vi posts #a lotta folks say that Shadow the Hedgehog (game) was the start of the decline for his characterization and. i don't think i agree with that sentiment much at all?#of course i've yet to play the game for myself but just having seen the cutscenes.#yeah it's a little over the top and eyeroll inducing but. at the very least it builds upon his character from SA2 (and i presume Heroes but idk how to feel about that game yet)

it brings me no pleasure to report that not even the IDW comics are completely immune to the Boom Shadow curse

#vi posts #it's by no means *bad*. not by a long shot #but like. if you're gonna have Shadow and Rouge be in the same room together then at the VERY LEAST you should drop the edgelord act for a fucking second and show that they are actually friends #i'm sure there's some huffy Sega executives who have forbidden Shadow to smile or whatever but. when Sonic motherfucking 06 understands a character better than your media you have officially made a wrong turn somewhere

Sonic OCs that are obvious Sonic/Shadow recolor are classic, timeless. but i started the IDW comics today and realized that by complete accident, my currently still in-progress OC is as close as i could feasibly get to a Tangle the Lemur recolor 😭
