i guess i'll just import the predictions post i made on tumblr last month and see if i've any adjustments i'd like to make in anticipation for the presents

best case scenario: no game release this year!!! let these devs fucking rest!!!!! (it’s not gonna happen 😞)

most likely scenario imho: beat for beat rerun of late 2021/early 2022. faithful gen 5 remakes by ILCA even tho no one on the planet wants that, while game freak does another experimental open world title set in the same region. because as much as fans like to think TPC listens to them, they’ll listen to the tune of 15 million BDSP copies sold first LMAO

what pokemon fans want to happen: B&W remakes developed in-house by game freak and also a Legends style Unova prequel AND ALSO johto games. most unlikely outcome (i’m not discounting the possibility of a johto remake/rerelease but the more I think about it the harder it gets for me to see them doing one anytime soon)

idea that i just got last night that i kind of want now: Legends Unova dual release. one game set in the distant past, the other in the distant future. fits perfectly with both Black and White’s original motifs and continuing ScarVio’s main themes. the games would have completely different pokédexes, characters, locations and even perhaps different plotlines that branch out more than any other game since like, gen 3. trading between versions would still work yadda yadda yadda you get the picture i’m not the dev here. only downside to this would be, seeing as it would be the biggest difference in pokémon versions to date, there’d be more of an argument for having to buy both versions to experience the other sides of the story (which, in all fairness, is really just more incentive for game freak to pull a move like this lol)

and... yeah i'd say i'm still pretty confident about this! mayyybe they'll throw me a curveball and do johto games first and save the gen 5 remakes for gen 10 (they've been doing remakes on even numbered gens since HGSS for what it's worth) but based on "credible" rumours and what have you i think a game of some sort taking place in unova is all but guaranteed to be next on the docket. see y'all tomorrow to see how i stacked up!! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
