EDIT: OH! Turns out I'm just terrible at looking! I looked up a video walkthrough of the quests, and I was just in the wrong fucking room! Lol, everything is fine. Very pleased.

Metroidvanias1 are pretty popular here, as are platformers (more often 2D than 3D, but that's more a consequence of the options). Also like, co-op multiplayer action games/shooters. We play less of those, 'cause they need buy-in from our friends. Ace Attorney is great,2 but we haven't really played a lot of visual novels beyond that and Kotaro Uchikoshi's work.
Horror is something we avoid. We channel our fear into anger, which is a terrible way to engage with media. And we're quite squeamish around the insides of animals.3 Besides that, MOBAs upfront too much information for us to feel comfortable learning them, with the exception of Heroes of the Storm before all that shit came out about Blizzard. PvP is generally a turn off for the swinginess of online matchmaking.

And if you insist on a distinction, the otherwise unnamed genre most Zelda games are.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles had like five of us tag through it without dropping the game, which is quite a rare occurence. Usually after two switches at most we get someone who's not into the genre.

Ironic for a system broadly into vore. Also Kharaya-do has a partial exemption from this, probably a result of being a vampire.
