The dungeon crawler genre on consoles tend to skew a little more on the simple side, especially in 1989. Double Dungeons has twenty or so different locales to clear, trawling through corridors and punching anything that steps in your path. That's it.
This TurboGrafx release eventually got put on the Nintendo Wii U virtual console, but...well. Unfortunately, its extremely rudimentary scope was not well received at all overseas. I dunno, I think that at least, as the name suggests, the two-player simultaneous dungeon crawling is pretty neat. I just like seeing walls swoop past, I guess.
Has ANYONE, over the course of the last several decades, seen even ONE of the 2,599 Ataris made before they hit it big? I'm starting to think they artificially inflated those numbers
