Excellent game. Really strong take on Sekiro-style combat in a 2D plane. Wild to think this is the studio's first action game

As I mentioned on my last post, I went back to Baldur's Gate 3... and probably it was because I was going through some bad days and felt that masochistic need arise within me, but I decided to try the (in)famous Honour Mode!
So far, so... good? More or less. It started well. I stole the fire sword from the cambion in the Nautiloid then rushed out of there when I couldn't hit the bitch, and when I miraculously hit him, it was for 2-3 damage. In my quest to avoid the Intellect Devourers on the beach (thanks Tactician mode for teaching me how gruesome those little shits can be), I discovered a path up the mountains I had never seen in my previous 10 or so playthroughs. Fun! Got Lae'zel (not before almost dying to those two puny Tieflings because the game refused to let me hit them; and yes, I broke my oath on the very first fight, screw it) and Astarion, then kicked the Intellect Devourers'... brains?
From there on, it was honestly easy. I'm using Divinity's mentality here: try to gather as much XP as I can without fighting (alas, BG3 doesn't award exploration nearly as much, which was a shocking realisation) and never dare to fight anything above your level. Had to run from some Gnolls when I triggered them and only then realised they were one level above, but no problem there at all!
My party is fun, too: a Paladin/Bard as my MC, Karlach as a Monk, Astarion as the kill-everything Gloomstalker, and alternating between Gale and SH as Life Cleric.
Things were going well! Until Priestess Gut. That big-ass arsehole summoned a shield that blocked all my attacks until she could summon help, triggering half the Goblin camp. I sacrificed Gale so the others could get the heck out. Probably should've stayed in Gut's chambers, but I didn't know if the eejits were going to come in or not. I don't know if Minthara was affected, but I can't even check on her without an invisibility potion.
All right. Things went south, but nothing too drastic (except if I lost Minthara, then I'll be pissed). But then I ran out of shit to do and forced myself to challenge the spider queen so I have a way into the Underdark. Got Wyll so he could wield the anti-spider spear. Put him behind a rock so the spider queen wouldn't see him. It didn't... for three or four rounds. But then she decided that she actually could see behind rocks before I could destroy the last set of her eggs! Honour Mode? Honour my arse, get out of there, everyone!
Then, on my second turn, the game decided that Karlach (also a Rogue) couldn't shoot the damn spider from where she was but had to climb the vines down even though the freaking enemy was right below her. Result: the spider saw us. Run again!
I ran three times from this fight (giving Withers money and stealing from him again and again to resurrect those who sacrificed themselves for the run), each time at least managing to kill one of the little spiders (and getting put into a web cocoon by the big one, of course; damn legendary actions). Finally, Astarion and Wyll put the creep shit down! Phew...
But the thing is: I could flee relatively easily here. I'm not looking forward to Ethel :') Gonna try to finish her on the teahouse, permanent +1 be damned.
Oh, well, if all else fails... at least Phaeniss is pretty, isn't she? :3
