so, having given the major games in the collection (kh1, 2, ddd, 3) a quick look on both pc and deck, I can confidently say that—aside from a couple weird quirks—these seem to be the best versions of the games
everything up to 0.2/kh3 will run at max fps on pretty much any resolution, on both pc and deck. the battery usage on the latter is super efficient. not surprising since the ps4 versions of these were very well optimized ports. the two quirks are that cutscenes are capped at 30fps, and sometimes the games will arbitrarily decide to lock at 60 regardless of if you had it set higher (mainly noticed this looking at long sightlines in kh2). these are probably easily fixable once the fan patch for the epic versions is converted over, but otherwise not major issues
kh3 on max settings at 4k is pretty bulky. on the high preset, I could get around 100-120fps on my 4070ti. on deck, the low preset at 75% render resolution will get you a fairly consistent 60 with a slightly fuzzy image, though you're likely to only get about 2-3 hours of battery life
a persistent problem on the epic versions was random crashing on kh2, it's hard to say if that's resolved without spending a lot more time with it. otherwise, weird little issues aside, these are as good as you would hope. a huge relief to have solid pc versions of these games after years of having to choose between emulation or dealing with the annoyances of the epic launcher versions
