#vivek ramaswamy
I stg i didnt want to post about this book again before i finished the it, and i only just made it to ch. 2. Idk how much i have left in me.
All in all ch. 1 was more illuminating than i thought it would be. He complains how woke capitalism is bad because it's ri.... well wokenomics as he calls it is one of two things.
- Rich executives bypassing the political process to force a set of values down the throats of the American people.
W - Big companies virtue signalling to make more money.
I don't think he's fully aware these are two different things, cuz he talks about them as though they're one in the same.
Im not fully sure who this is supposed to be aimed at besides conservatives that wanna say slurs without losing stock value.
He mentions how the virtue signalling companies do is bad, but in the same page he'll say "As a society we shoukd embrace financial self- interest above all." And just fails to see the "woke" stuff as just another money making method. Like its cheating somehow or something
Im probably not gonna chost as i read like i did porn generation, but I'll summarize my experience at the end of it.
Here's the book
Woke Inc. by Vivek Ramaswamy

I was interested in this book because while Vivek seems fairly normal by gop standards, his funny culture war quirk is that companies are too woke. He published this book in 2021 and started a VC firm to serve as the antithesis to stakeholder capitalism. This is his thing.
He's a very funny guy, and i expect to be thoroughly entertained by reading this. One thing im learning from hate reading is that books are a great medium for getting into someone's head because for some reason, so much more of their unfiltered thoughts make it to the final draft.
Maybe it's cuz books usually only have the authors and editors as intervening forces. So while TV, and movies, and even podcasts have bigger teams where someone can say "hey thats crazy, lets dial it back" it happens so less often in books. Idk maybe someone that knows more about book editing can illuminate me.
what fucking universe am i actually living in right now
