that's the first non-recap episode.
not a big fan of this. i think it peaked (get it) in season 2 — which, aside from the weird bra shopping episode and the one after, was pretty solid imo. i find it a little hard to articulate what changed. i think the pacing got a bit faster? like they're in a hurry to get through the plot? it's like things don't get a chance to breathe.
also i don't like the new mountain climbing club girl. if your anime has a character who is annoying to the point that other characters keep groaning at their shit, nine times out of ten i feel like you can just... get rid of that character and lose nothing.
weird thing is, both seasons had the same studio (8bit), director, and various other key roles. the only thing that looks noticeably different in the credits list, is that the last 2 seasons have a bunch of big companies listed under "Production", like Kadokawa. my hunch is that they got more involved with the creative process and had them make it more anime-ish (faster, more annoying)?
i wonder how yurucamp season 3 is gonna turn out. the new season will be made by 8bit too (it was c-station before). yama no susume season 2 does demonstrate that they can do a good job (season 3 was alright too), but i also get the feeling that C-Station intended for things to conclude after the movie, and this new season is being pushed by the producers.
time will tell, i guess. and if it turns out shit, at least the rest of yurucamp will still be great
