Wasn't as fun as my other projects, but I just repaired my mouse! The left click was double clicking like 90% of clicks. I got the click sensors out of an old cheap wireless mouse my dad wasn't using anymore. This was very frustrating because the solder around the three distant pins would keep resolidifying so I had to use two hands or two hands and a foot to get the sensors out while heating them with a soldering iron). Opening up the mouse, a Corsair mouse from 2016, was doable but the latches on both ribbon cables broke and one had to be superglued on, and one of the clips to attach the top of the mouse to the base broke off as well. Frustrating. Removing the sensors from the corsair mouse was frustrating in the same way as the wireless one. Then I had to clear out the holes enough to put the sensor through, again, frustrating, my suction tool wasn't working well enough and the wire I was using wasn't picking it up well either. But eventually I put the sensors from the cheapo mouse into the Corsair mouse, putting the right sensor into the left hole, left sensor into the right hole (in case the old mouse's sensors had been used a while, I don't think they were particularly but still, wanted to give the left click sensor the most life left). Because the one clip was broken I had to take a long time glueing it back in, which, again, extremely frustrating.
BUT I DID IT. AND THE MOUSE WORKS. KNOCK ON WOOD.

If I ever wanna do a soldering project again, I def want to get an omnifixo so I have a good set of helping hands. I also definitely want to get just flux on its own, and something better for removing solder. Aaaand honestly a heat gun would probably help a lot with situations like those part removals with lots of pins.
