"Social Media" sites aren't platforms, they're refineries. They take our posts, distill them all and then push the ones that will drive "engagement." Engagement usually meaning what ever will start the most angry comments. Everything else gets stored in the back. If you're wondering why it's always the same folks who comment on your posts, that's because the algorithm decided that they engage with your posts so they get to see them. Everyone else on your list? Nope. They use our posts to sell advertising space so only the most active posts get the attention. We're workers for them, and we don't even get paid.
