Writing stuff inspired by Toei children's superhero TV means that I'm rapidly realising that while having people transform to punch each other out is very fun (and also easy to write), what I actually enjoy writing the most is people hanging out at restaurants having extremely mundane and awkward conversations over their meals.

Very helpful in identifying exactly which Toei children's superhero show was responsible for permanently warping my neurons and writing style.

What I expected: Hey fun children's show where guys in spandex punch rubber monsters

What I got: that but ALSO I'm fucking crying Takkun's inability to eat hot food is emblematic of his estrangement from society and inability to trust others :host-cry:

I want to talk about Paradise Regained so much here right now, but won't in case someone who hasn't watched it stumbles across this. Instead I'll say that in the Faiz Murder Case web episode that spins out of it features Takkun having turned in his middle age into the dad who, day one of getting a pet, is entirely against it, thinks it's a waste of money, and keeps complaining about it. Then, not a day later, is absolutely the person in the household who loves the pet the most, and would die to keep it safe. This is absolutely how an older Takkun would turn out and it's just beautiful and perfect.
