I'm copying down the 214 radicals, the equivalent pinyin, and the English meaning as a part of my research for the language zine, and while I love the whole logographic aspect, I also kinda hate writing and sometimes trying to differentiate groups of them. It's really cool to have the words actually represent their meaning while saving so much space, but also, the stroke order thing and the minute differences between them make it a pain to write or read. Maybe it gets better with practice, but I have heard that even younger Chinese people struggle with writing it and prefer digital input methods that take the pinyin and resolve to the correct hànzì.
