A shimmering green beetle the size of a mouse, which was equally at home drinking sap from the giant dandelions that formed the forest over a civilization that had once relied upon druidic magic for getting by, or draining power from wiring after biting into it. Either way, it had a remarkable ability to turn nearly any possible concept of food or fuel into something it could sustain itself with, and it would build little waxy cells of a thick violet honey-like gel when allowed to feed to its heart's content. The violet gel, itself, was astonishingly nourishing for any manner of life, from mulch for trees to being stirred into morning tea or spread like jam onto bread.
