a doll with external memory drives!
recently, its witch upgraded its hardware! now it can start migrating data from several older drives to newer high capacity ones!
a few of these drives, it hasn't had connected in a long while. they're bulky, low capacity, slow - so it put them away for safe keeping.
it connects the oldest first and -
the day its witch gave it its name. she wasn't very good at names. it had to help her.
the first few pieces of furniture it broke. it was afraid of what its witch would do. she was just relieved it was okay.
a friend that they had that they haven't seen in years. they left for another planet. this was the last time they met in person.
a flower that they grew together. they weren't sure it would ever sprout. but then it did.
a shopping trip. its witch almost fell down the stairs. it caught her just in time.
buying a new phone after the old one stopped working out of the blue. it was meticulously card for. never damaged. it just turned off one day and didn't turn back on.
realizing that the drive was running out of space. it was turned off for a few days while a new one came in. wanted to protect the memories. leave a little space just in case.
one last memory: a thank you message: that they needed to disconnect the drive for now. a thank you for keeping it safe, that they could retrieve these memories.
looking over these memories, the doll is sobbing.
