You could spin light into a solid form; you mostly relied on an old drop spindle you'd inherited, but any implement capable of forming strands could be put to use if you tried; you could even braid it into a physical state, slowly and painstakingly. At first it was just a novelty, but gradually you grew more skilled, and in time learned new tricks to it. A ship with hammocks woven of warm light for the crew, and sails that treated the aetheric wind as securely as the sails of terrestrial ships treated the sea breezes, and even so far as lines for grapples and mooring were all crafted by your hands.
