You were caught in an interstellar storm, and afterwards found yourself as swift as a lightning strike, able to react to things before anyone else realized they were happening, and able to cross the length of a ship - or indeed an entire planetside town - in the time it took others to take a single stop. You did have to take care - your speed provided no protection from windburn, and your velocity still carried momentum, which made colliding with things a great deal more painful - but once you learned how to be careful and precise nothing seemed able to catch you, much less surpass your movement, save a bolt of true lightning.
