Some say that dollhood is about subservience.
After all: dolls are "all about Purpose, Stillness in pursuit of that Purpose."
Really, dollhood is more about freedom. But then so is witchhood, angelhood, demonhood, mothood, and so many more - but let's focus on the one for now.
The difference is mostly that subservience is more often chosen - especially when compared to that personhood which is forced upon us all.
Personhood that was only acknowledged in order to be weaponized against them.
A person is supposed to be this, supposed to be that - and, because they were "people", they had to live up to those standards.
Dolls, so the same as witches and the rest, aren't people.
They are inhuman, not subhuman, and are exactly what they want to be - and defy conforming to the limits imposed by personhood.
More than subservience, more than power, more than self-sacrifice, more than self-assertation, more than wandering -
It's about freedom to be themselves.
They all are.
