"So let me see if I understand."

"Yeah?"

"Every time I've had to heal up, the Power has been just... replacing bits of me wholesale?"

"Sure, yeah."

"And -" Magical Defender Brilliance Tim paused for a moment, thinking it over - "and because I've now been hit basically everywhere, I've just been... totally replaced by something else?"

"Except your appendix."

"And all that's been going to -"

"Me," the other Magical Defender Brilliance Tim (who, frankly, looked like a mess from all the scarring) confirmed. "Technically, I'm just supposed to be spare matter floating around the Source of Magic, but then -"

"- Cloneichus had to try and pull a whole 'fight your true selves' thing," they both said simulaneously, before looking at each other and laughing. Tim Alpha (the continuous one) laughed. "Man, I don't even know how he thought that would go."

"So true, dude. Guy just made twice as much trouble for himselves on that one assuming we'd be like... bitter or something. So, uh..."

"Uh... hm. Actually, I guess there's probably some philosophical interpretation we gotta do now, huh?"

"Mm? Yeah?" Tim Spare (the one formed from the old bits) kinda shrugged, bits of torn uniform (layered to hell with duplicates) finally shedding. "Like what?"

"I..." Tim Alpha scratched the back of his head with the Brilliance Rod. "uh... dunno. Like, if I've continued my stream of consciousness this whole time yet no longer contain any of the parts I once did, but you're completely constructed of it and yet are not continuous with me... which is the true Tim?"

"Hmm. Shoulda thought about that." Tim Spare did the same with his Brilliance Rod - or at least the snapped old instance he was armed with.

"..."

"..."

"..."

Tim Spare got a look in his eye as he smirked. "Wanna go find out?"

Tim Alpha smirked the exact same way in return. "I thought you'd never ask."

The pair detransformed and walked off toward Tim's apartment, arm in arm...

and then they FUCKED

If I'm ever driving down a winding country road in a grey autumnal afternoon and I realize I am being framed in a helicopter shot, I will simply turn around and go right back the way I came. I don't know why people don't get this. The Shining came out like 50 years ago.

[my hands on the wheel at 10 & 2, listening to old folk music on the radio, squinting to see Stanley Kubrick's personal helicopter in the rearview]

Hm. Well, a couple things could be happenin' here. The camera could be establishing a sense of psychological distance from me, its subject, for tonal or thematic purposes. Or perhaps it's meant to embody an inhuman malevolence, vast n' nameless, peering at the mere speck I am to its grand designs.

Either way, I'm turnin' back. That BBQ place is worth an hour's drive but it ain't worth this.

@remspeedwagon asked:

I hear there's Lancer infodumping on offer?

There is, but I have to tell you, I feel bad about infodumping. Basically everything I'll say is just in the books, and the core book is free. Perhaps more importantly, I've got guilt about waxing poetic about something that I'm not certain that anybody cares about - especially when I feel so strongly about how cool Lancer is, the last thing I want is to come off as an annoying bitch who can't shut up about her stupid special interest-

Well, anyway. You did ask, and this is a website with read more links. It got... really long.

This is a post about the published module No Room For A Wallflower, and will contain spoilers. Consider not reading it if you ever plan on playing that specific module.
