Why does the NBA only play a season of basketball every 101 years?

I keep seeing people talking about the great 1617 season, the 1314 championship, etc. I don't get it. 😃 Would it not be better to see what kind of talents have potentially come up more often than that? A lot of people who could be good at the game probably don't even get to play in an NBA season, right?
