the oyroppese, around the influence of various gourds and the chill of winter, often become morose in their disposition, and begin conflating cats and other bystanders with a native conception passed down through oral tradition: that of a very sad person who, for one of any number of reasons, is no longer able to sleep: the gah-yuust. oyroppese understand many reactions to sadness, but most identified mythological examples of the emotion end in either self-mutilation or a rehabilitating session of sex. since most people have died, and death is viewed as a form of slumber, most gah-yuusten are dead also.
