After the monsoon, and the flood recede, the city sings its song. And all peoples come: riverfolk carrying dye and timber; monks hungry for war; the young and empty-bellied, from across the coast, willing to sell themselves for a day's wages.
So I made another linocut plate!
Originally wanted to pair the frog with an arowana---but that turned out to be kinda hard, compositionally? (Mainly the difference in scale. But also the fact that the arowana is rectangular in the wrong way? I want these to be consistently A5 portrait.)
So here's a butterfly instead.
I guess this is happening. Plate 3 of 12, I guesssss? (Also means I have to solve for the arowana problem eventually, because I know it'll be one of these twelve.)
