A buried plague, a dozen mummies, and pirates digging for new treasure.

#dungeon23
I really tried to make a rooms-in-a-cave dungeon this time, honest!
This one has pirates. They've made their home in an old burial ground---not their fault; they'd no way of knowing, really. It is in the culture of the Gold Eyes to have their dead entirely forgotten.
Also: the soul of a plague, locked away by the gods, out of sight, out of mind ...
Was most pleased with the image of a huge crocodile having a sneezing fit. You can catch what she's got ...
Hopping plague is me imagining the zombified ill hopping about like hantu pocong.
Also CW: slavery. But raiding for and trading in people was an integral part of many maritime SEAsian cultures, and that's my touchstone, so it felt appropriate to include in a pirate band.
This one feels very text-heavy. I think I overwrote to try to hide the fact that the illustration isn't super striking? Wasn't happy with it; you can see how the line quality deteriorates, deeper into the cave, as I slowly realised I'd busted my back and my control slipped because of pain.
Am nearly a month behind on #dungeon23 , now. Hope I catch up again. Am trying to rest.
