The awesome art above is from the Super Famicom Shadowrun game (which did come out in English), but this Japanese box art is out of control!
Oh, dang! I haven't seen that rigger motorcycle one before. That is legit cool, especially the rider's cyberhead!
It's from the manga. I don't know too much about it, but my understanding is that the Japanese edition of 2e went with full body prosthetics instead of partial cyborgs.
That's cool. I like that Shadowrun has a lot of regional variation in publications. Hopefully whatever rules covered full-body prosthetics got further away from the gross bits about essence costs, also.
This is glorious! I can't believe this is real. If I had money to spend collecting more things, these are things worth collecting. I want a personal library, and I want these in it.

I looked into the Sega-CD game cuz I was pretty sure the game shared characters with the books (still not sure about that) and found out that Group SNE did the adaptions for Japan. The same Group SNE that made Record of Lodoss War and is still going strong in the TTRPG market with Sword World.
That's really cool to know! That makes sense, I suppose. The Japanese TTRPG industry probably isn't that big. Even the U.S. TTRPG industry isn't that big, so it doesn't surprise me that Sword World people also adapted Shadowrun.
