it's sort of incredible how little of this ask i understand. to answer your question, my thoughts on this matter are as follows:
oh god this is about orientalism isn't it. i did a brief search for "kaigai" which apparently is japanese for "overseas" and together with "appropriators" i have to assume this was sent to me because i've been posting about orientalism recently. anyway my answer remains exactly the same
lol no i mean it's the entitlement right? you know whoever this is came to my inbox "oh she's asian i bet she'll do the discourse dance for me." and like, sure i'm not deeply wounded by it or whatever but my patience with being a subject of eternal consumption is nevertheless growing quite thin!
To white people who will see this and start crying about their feelings and how else are they gonna learn blah blah blah: Here's the thing, y'all "just asking questions" is not just distracting (and stealing energy from) us, it's also distracting YOU from YOUR job of reflecting on your feelings and discomfort BY YOURSELF and looking up resources ON YOUR OWN, of which there are many you can find even with AI ruining search as badly as it has (just don't rely on the overviews).
Some of you do it on purpose, others do it because that's how you were taught by the system you uphold. Frankly, I don't care whether you're doing it on purpose or not because it has the same effect either way.
If you really were ignorant of what you were doing, you aren't now, so do better.
