Hi! I'm Val or spacevalkyries (she/they). I'm a queer disabled biracial Mexican American sci-fi/fantasy author under the pen name V.M. Ayala. I have social anxiety, C-PTSD, ADHD, and depression jazzhands so I can be a bit of a shy and/or chaotic non-binary cryptid. I also have chronic pain and fatigue, so sometimes things can run a bit slowly, but I'm still working at it 😤

I'm also a variety streamer and content creator. I tend to focus on indie games, and I flail a lot about narrative in games and media in general.

I recently got my first fantasy short story publication "The Void Door" at Beneath Ceaseless Skies as well as my first byline for an article on the importance of queer disabled streaming spaces on Twitch.

I want to start writing more microfiction/flash fiction for Patreon and Ko-fi supporters as well as a sapphic secondary world fantasy murder mystery serial fiction series (which will start in October). I'm also working on a small interactive text based game, a sapphic retelling of Hades and Persophone novella, and—my big project—a queer mecha space opera novel. Basically I'm doing a lot of writing 💕

My hope writing pieces like this (besides patting myself on the back) is that it demystifies the process of making games. All it takes is making one little thing after another.
