This might be a fun platform to do short reviews on all the games I've streamed through. To start I'll do quick roundups of everything I've done so far.
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (PSX)
My commitment to this game for streaming started as a joke, but as I've played more and more early 3D platformers, I'm still surprised at how well this holds up. The controls and difficulty curve are frustrating, but the short exploration based levels can be pretty fun! Going for 100% completion kind of ruins this fun, but I'd still rather play this than quite a few PSX platformers with better controls.
Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase (PSX)
I didn't like this game as a kid, and I still didn't like it as an adult. The early levels are totally serviceable, but there's absolutely nothing memorable about them. The final boss is awful, and the game is so short that it's all I can remember about the experience. The original straight to VHS special is still a pretty fun watch, though!
Super Mario Bros (NES)
It's super fucking Mario!
RC Helicopter (PSX)
I really don't know why I've played this game in full twice. There are a couple of funny ghost levels, but it's pretty lame otherwise. Just watch the Classics of Game video on it instead of playing it.
Trauma Team (Wii)
Trauma Team is absolutely the peak of the Trauma Center franchise. Moving away from GUILT to provide more of a character-driven narrative makes the story a lot more memorable than the earlier games, and the variety of playstyles helps break up the frustrating bits. The endoscope levels suck ass, but the new types of play are pretty solid otherwise. I'm really bummed this never got a sequel.
