the EeePC 700X (or as i’m calling it - Eh3) is a device i’ve owned for quite a bit, never used though. look at this beast:
- 600 MHz Celeron M (running at 60° constant)
- 512 megs of DDR2@400MT/s
- 2 gigs of… i don’t know, an SSD i guess?
- the [ and ; keys are switched places, as well as U and L
the D key is jammed and needs to be hit full-force to registerupd: fixed it. it's a scissor keyboard, so of course it'd do that. had to reseat 3 keys - D, [ and Del- the CMOS battery is dead. it keeps resetting to 2002.
the battery weighs like half the weight of this thing, i swear. and it took me a while to pry it open too. the speakers are somewhat nice on winXP (what it shipped with), though i can’t get pulseaudio to work. oh, and i can lift off the keyboard, now that i’ve pried it out. it’s incredibly hot (in a physics manner, not sexually).
overall, yeah, it’s definitely a Computer. one of them. would not recommend.
