currently listening to the latest episode of Upgrade, and… no, i don’t think that the Apple Vision Sport would ever be a thing.
i really just see (or rather, envision) the Apple Vision as a stationary media viewing device. because like, that’s how they presented it at WWDC.
not in a “this device is fixed here” way, but in a “the user is fixed here while wearing this device” way.
you sit down in a chair/couch and watch a movie. you stand next to your desk and do your work stuff. you do Activities in one specific Place. not on the move.
and definitely not with that 2h battery pack. for a device to be mobile, it has to have significant physical protection for itself (which the Vision Pro does not), and is supposed to have a long-term battery life (which the Vision Pro also does not).
so, no, i don’t see the future of Apple Vision devices as a mobile thing.
fitness+ addendum
yes i think it should have support for this Fitness+ thing, but like an additional overlay. and only for low-intensity exercises. there shouldn’t be a specific Sport edition though, that’s really dumb.
