Coffee does tend to be the hot drink of choice here, but I would say a large minority drinks hot tea. We had tea for breakfast when I was growing up, and I still do that. :)

i also have coffee every morning to kickstart the day, but i personally prefer tea as my hot beverage of choice for the rest of the day (way simpler and faster to prepare, more various tastes than just Caffeine, does not lose taste as fast, and is most importantly non-addictive).

though yeah, tea is like the de-facto national drink around here in russia, so there might be bias.

my main concern is that some sources state that around 85% of the tea consumed in the US is iced/cold. like, damn.
