i have accidentally invented childproof elements in css. we put actual spherical corners on things, so that children can't get hurt by hitting their head on the sharp edges. this is massive.

just tried JPEG XL

this shit is fucking wild. this is what we should be doing with computers.
it compressed a 10.6MB PNG image down to 1.1MB without noticable quality loss. this is massive. and i mean the image originally had a grainy texture plus a gradient, that's why it was hard to compress. and the fact that JXL does nearly a tenfold size decrease? fucking massive.

inb4 this is the next big thing on the web, very hyped.
