Got good feedback on this, thank you all!

Being burned in the past by frustrating clients has left some deeper scars than I originally thought since I keep coming back to this "should I?" well every now and again and then bury the thought. Time is also a factor alongside balancing other personal projects, not to mention trying to keep my day job from being all work and no life balance.

I think Ko-Fi might be a good soft starting point to offer something like a sketch tier with a clear outline and restrictions on expectations and delivery so it can be turned off or on as needed. I want to avoid overloading myself and overpromising on my time. Might be easier to dip my toes in with something that I can do more quickly to start with, like only offering busts or emotes.

Got a lot to think about, but I want to make something happen on this front in the new year.

if it's just accepting money through ko-fi, go for it! but, if it's listing commissions and letting folks buy slots at their leisure, be sure to make the terms of the commissions very specific and apparent since you're accepting money before speaking to people; it always felt like a quick way to get nightmare clients to me
