I've also been taking part of this morning to revisit making an updated website with a flat-file CMS in Grav, which, even with zero webdev knowledge, I can see is easier and less messy in the long run than Wordpress. It also loads in a fraction of a second.
The trade-off is still having my spirit crushed by poor documentation on top of trying to learn a pseudo-coding language that feels like it's made to deliver blogs and "buy our product or service" websites more than it is a visual gallery, but I'd like to at least have something that looks nice and loads quickly in the near future so I can point people towards it instead of assuming they bounce off of it because every single page takes 15+ seconds or more to load on a Wordpress site.
