There is a solid line you can trace along my path in life where my early / ongoing ideas were multiverse theory and "what lies beyond the veil of our own world and our imaginations in other dimensions" and my current ideas have introduced things like "what if a succubus in her late 30's got an office job to make a living as an obvious metaphor for capitalism crushing humanity's soul and sense of wonder"
Extra thoughts: The latter hasn't replaced the former. It's not "I was once young and naive, and now I'm old and hardened to the ways of the world".
It's just given me more to think about, work with, and punch up at as I've gained life experience.
